What are the school supplies needed?

You will be required to wear steel toed boots and hard hats as you would on any job site while in the shop. Other school supplies you will need are:

Pens
Drafting pencils, erasers
Drafting set
Scale ruler
Squares
Sharp D.A.L. calculator
Large 3” binder

What are the eligibility and requirements?

Apprentices must have accumulated a certain amount of hours per year in order to be eligible for registration with the H&F training center. The following amount of hours are required for each level of training:

Level 1 - 1665 hours
Level 2 - 3330 hours
Level 3 - 4995 hours
Level 4 - 6660 hours

What are the E.I. benefits for BC apprentices?

Apprentices who are registered with Skilled Trades BC and meet the eligibility requirements, can apply for E.I. coverage while they are in school. To learn more about E.I and how to apply follow This Link

Is there an allowance from employers?

The apprentice’s employer may chose to contribute to an allowance for apprentices, in some circumstances. The apprentice should discuss this directly with their employer.
