What are the school supplies needed?
You will be required to wear steel toed boots and hard hats as you would on any job site while in the shop. Other school supplies you will need are:

What are the eligibility and requirements?
Apprentices must have accumulated a certain amount of hours per year in order to be eligible for registration with the H&F training center. The following amount of hours are required for each level of training:​

Level 1 - 1665 hours

Level 2 - 3330 hours

Level 3 - 4995 hours
-
Level 4 - 6660 hours
What are the E.I. benefits for BC apprentices?
Apprentices who are registered with Skilled Trades BC and meet the eligibility requirements, can apply for E.I. coverage while they are in school. To learn more about E.I and how to apply follow This Link

Is there an allowance from employers?
The apprentice’s employer may chose to contribute to an allowance for apprentices, in some circumstances. The apprentice should discuss this directly with their employer.
Financial Supports

The Apprenticeship Incentive Grant - Taxable grant available to registered apprentices once they have successfully completed and passed their first or second year/level of a Red Seal trade. Certain conditions apply. Follow This Link for more info.

Training Tax Credit

Completion Credit for level 3 or level 4 for Red Seal training programs.

Enhanced Credit for First Nations individuals and persons with disabilities​

Apprenticeship Completion Grant - $2,000 taxable cash grant designed to encourage apprentices registered in a designated Red Seal trade to complete their apprenticeship program and receive their certification. Deadline to apply is June 30 of the calendar year following the date you completed and passed the Interprovincial Examination. For more info on how to apply follow This Link
